Venture Plus is managed by Garth Edgar. Garth's experience includes founding and managing several technology companies, advising governments on designing and implementing investments programs, and conducting securities analysis with two of Canada's leading, national investment firms.
He generally joins executive teams to bolster core management skill sets and administer the accounting, finance and governance reporting requirements as well as undertake private and public fund raising activities including going public.
Garth has a BCom in Finance and his CSC and has completed post-graduate studies at both McGill University and University of Toronto. He has held analyst positions with both the BC provincial and federal governments and was a securities analyst with one of Canada's top rated investment firms. He is a past mentor for the e@UBC entrepreneurship program at the Sauder School of Business at UBC providing promising technologies and innovations advice on accounting, finance, business planning and governance best practices.
His most recent assignment involved managing the accounting, governance and admin of a multinational mining exploration group of companies. He was a founding CFO of a start up provider of funding for companies in the agriculture-sourced medical treatment product sector as well as a due diligence resource for the company's investment in California. Prior to this his assignment was as CFO and Corporate Secretary of an oil & gas development company, Range Energy Resources Inc. (CNSX:RGO) from virtual start up to $50 million public company.
He brings his experience, and that of other accomplished partners, to the table for promising, startup and mid-sized companies seeking management and capital assistance. He is a Past long time director and President of the Canada Taiwan Trade Association.
